I went in this morning to do one last order before Brown's Bakery officially closes on Saturday, July 8th for good. It's sad to see this locally owned business close its doors for the last time after decades of operating in Oklahoma City. The line was about 15 people deep this morning as everyone was doing what I was doing...getting their last fix of Brown's goodies before they're permanently gone. For those reading this before July 8th, do yourself a favor and grab some of their donuts and other baked goods. Don't let the long lines deter you!
By far, my favorite donuts on the planet. They don't compare to others. Yeah, the store is old, but just goes to show it's longevity.
This is great bakery. Smells fantastic when you walk in the door. As I was coming in just under the wire staff was all about getting me in and out. I don't blame though as I would do the same. The pastries, donuts and honeybuns are worth the trip! I will definitely go back, hopefully just not at the 5 minutes before they close.

I've lived in OKC for awhile and finally decided to take the plunge and go to Brown's! Why I waited this long I HAVE NO CLUE!? Silly me! Donut we're delicious. They weren't anything fancy and I'm very happy with that. Just a solid classic donut. Several options to choose from. The place had a small line the entire time I was there, but the service was quick and it probably took me 5 min total from walking in to walking out.
If you're looking for a classic donut this is your go to. It's nothing fancy, the donuts are cheap, the coffee tastes like it's from a donut shop, and they have milks to boot. Didn't get into the cookies but those looked fire. Service was quick and kind. Ambiance was what to expect when you think of a traditional place. Check it out sometime. I got a 16 oz coffee and 6 donuts for $9 and change.
Yelp came thru again - This little gem is tucked in the middle of midtown and has some of the best donuts I've eaten. We got a sample pack so we could try a few options since there was sooooo many flavors, and I'm so glad we did. Be back next time I'm in OKC! Cakes looked amazing as well.
Have been meaning to try this place for awhile but every time I tried to go, they had already closed their doors (early morning hours that end at 1pm). When I finally was able to make it in, I got their jalapeño kolache, which was pretty damn good. I got a normal one also - which was excellent as well. Will definitely return to sample their other baked goods, something they've excelled in for more than 76 years apparently!
I eat sweet treats more than any other food group. That being said i enjoy trying out anywhere that specializes in this! I've ordered cakes from her for showers and such and their prices are more than fair. They're also pretty decent and moist! They are open to the public also and known for their donuts. Their donuts on the other hand isn't anything special to me I'm more of a classic daylight donut fan myself. Last time i ran in i just bought a single chocolate chip cookie and nothing was special about it. It is however really nice to have another local place close by all the mid town restaurants for convenience of ordering a simple dessert to go. They have everything from cookies, brownies, kolaches, cakes pies etc. that you can buy whole or single serving. Prices are fantastic also.
